We stayed at Kamajaya Villas in Ubud which was about 5 min drive from the main office. Maddy(usually everyone goes by that name in Bali) was our instructor, really buffed up guy who liked to have fun. The climb down to the river was pretty long but the huge rice fields helped. We took the farthest point on the river as our starting location and oh man did we pick the right spot. I got to get down from the raft to swin in the river which was overflowing with water as tuere was some serious rain the previous night. We got to stand under a couple of waterfalls which included a big one. BIGG ONE!!

It was my 2nd time rafting and my wife's 4th time, yet this one in ubud is clearly on top of the list now.

Totally recommend it

Our guide - Wayan, was bubbly and energetic and made our entire rafting trip enjoyable, fun and safe.

Before you can enjoy the nice rafting experience, you have to brave the walk down to the river which took is a good 15 mins and down very steep and uneven steps. If you're not so medically fit it will be a challenge. Make sure to wear good waterproof comfy footwear. The walk down was most arduous. The walk back up after the rafting was more manageable though you would have to climb up stairs but at least they are proper stairs and probably took us abt 10 mins.

The trip down the river was gorgeous with beautiful rainforest, waterfalls and passing by 5 star resorts which were built along the Ayung river.

The lunch after was fantastic!! The pork ribs were tender and deliciously marinated. Much better than at Wild Hog I must say. You have got to try their ribs if available.

The downside is the smoking in the shop which was very choking as there was no ventilation

I have used Sari Profit white water rafting on four different occasions. It's always great day out. I love the walk through the rice paddies and down to the river. It's not an easy walk but I enjoy the physical challenge of it. It gets you ready for floating along the river.

The scenery as you go down the river is beautiful with some Rapids to make the journey fun. I love it when you get to swim in the river. The water is lovely and cool. The guides are very professional, capable and fun.

The walk up the steps at the end is another great physical challenge. I love being over taken by the ladies carrying the rafts up on their heads. It is just impressive how the do it.

The change rooms aren't great but all you need to do is change into dry clothes. So i say just get over it.

The lunch after is sensational. Every time I have really enjoyed it. Whoever they have cooking does a really good job.

The drivers are also good. I've always been picked up and dropped off on time, in clean air conditioned cars.

The only thing I don't like is the smoking. The staff all smoke in the lobby and it doesn't have great ventilation. It's really off putting. The good thing is, I don't think a staff member has ever smoked in front of me anywhere else on the journey. However the lobby is just a haze of stinky smoke.

All in all though it is an excellent day out. They do a marvellous job.

Good company and great instructors. As others have mentioned, the showers and change rooms are not so good (low water pressure, not clean, and no locks). Not a big deal since you are just quickly rinsing off. But to compensate for it, the included lunch was fantastic. I would use them again.

We have done rafting in Bali many times so we knew what to expect. Changing facilities are never great at these places and are always very basic. This was no exception. Showers and toilets need a good clean. I tried to spend as little time as possible in the changing area.

There is also a discrepancy in the price charged for the rafting. We asked one of the staff from our hotel to make the booking which cost us 500k INDR per person. However, upon arrival to the office I noticed that their brochure quoted $72USD. Quite a difference. Guess it depends on who you know as to whether you get charged Bali price or Tourist price.

The trek down to the Ayung River included a 5 min walk through rice fields and then a 600m descent down some steep and treacherous stairs. If you have any walking difficulties, heart condition, or like myself, asthmatic, then I would suggest you proceed with caution. I found the walk down long and tedious. By the time I had reached the river, my leg muscles were shaking involuntarily. I was grateful to finally sit down in the raft.

Our guide was experienced and very friendly. He made the 2 hour rafting experience very enjoyable. Unlike other rafting experiences we had been on, this one DID NOT go over any dangerous waterfalls for which we were grateful. If it had, we would have opted out anyway and walked along the riverbank instead. It is not worth the risk.

At the end of the journey, you are then faced with a 400m trek up the stairs. I found this part the most difficult as my breathing became asthmatic. I therefore had to take it very slowly, stopping several times along the way to catch my breath. It was also very hard on my already sore leg muscles.

Unfortunately most of these rafting companies DO NOT warn you about the walk down to and up from the river. If you are not prepared, this could be dangerous.

By the time we got back to the main office and the awful change rooms, I had had enough and just wanted to get back to our hotel. We didn't even stay for the lunch that was being offered as I was concerned about food safety and hygiene. Instead, we asked to be driven back to our hotel

Highly recommend this for a fun morning.

From Ubud promptly picked us up for short 15 min drive to office (which is also the finish point of the rafting). Changing rooms, and lockers to store dry clothes. Can put in dry bag some stuff for the rafting, but basically wear togs/clothes happy to get wet including shoes/jandals. Pay first (400K each for 4 of us), then they drive you to start of rafting (15 mins). Get life jacket, helmet, paddle and walk down steps to the start of 12 km/1.5-2 hour paddle. Got really wet, our guide was great and no one fell out. I think our guide was really fantastic, expert at guidiing the boat, made it really fun. Rapids weren’t too scary, kids really enjoyed it. 2 hours on river, then finished at office. Changed into dry clothes and lunch upstairs. Ribs or chicken with rice, noodles. Recommend ribs. We passed the start points for a number of other rafting companies, so seemed like we got one of the longest trips (some seemed to start at half way). Take photos at the end which print out any you want at 50,000 each. If you want drink half way 20,000k, and extra drinks at lunch cheap.

Great fun, and can’t imagine how any the the more expensive places would be any better.

Made a last minute booking on the recommendation of other guests in my hotel. Glad I did. Pickup on time, nice driver. Wait for other guests at office was too long. Bring a book if you're a solo traveller. Drive out to start point very scenic, in good car. Rafts and life jackets good quality and guides inspired confidence. Walk down was through lovely rice paddies and down steps not at all bad and I'm mid fifties. The river is incredibly beautiful. I think early April is a really good time, tail end wet season so plenty water but we had sunshine. I was in a raft with two very nice Japanese people. Rapids not at all scary. Enough to be exhilarating though. Loved the carvings on the river bank and swimming under the waterfall. Bought a coconut mid trip, 20k Rp, bring money. The rafting part lasted two hours and finished close to their office. Stairs up from the river not at all daunting. Cold shower, nice clean towel, lunch pumpkin soup, nasi and mie goreng either with chicken or with egg if vegetarian. Nicely served and tasty. Worthwhile experience. Felt safe and well looked after.

We booked rafting through a local agent and were pleased to find out it was sari profit having read tripadvisor reviews. The cost was reasonable at 900,000 irp for two. I imagine you can barter it down but we had no problem with that price. There were changing rooms, lockers and lots of steps! The walk through the rice paddies is nice at the beginning and the steps down aren't too bad. If you don't want steps then choose a different river, not the ayung! A quick brief then off down the river. All the equipment looked and felt safe and soon we were paddling around a through waterfalls, stone carvings and splashing other rafts. There was a stop halfway to have a dip and purchase a drink (with no pressure). At the end, lots more steps followed by a hot shower with towels provided and a nice lunch. I would recommend sari profit to others

Some poor changing rooms are an inauspicious start. After that there's a walk round rice fields to reach the rafts. From there the staff give instructions and you're off. We did 2 hours and were exhausted by the end. Really exciting river with great views. Rough water but not too deep. Getting caught under a raft was scary but that aside it was fun. Cold showers at the end and a hot meal were helpful. Bit out the way but a pretty unforgettable experience so worth the travel.

We knew that August wouldn't be proper white water rafting, nevertheless it was still a lot of fun with a few dips down the river, splashing between boats and an opportunity to jump from a high place in. We also saw monkeys jumping across the river. I hadn't realised how beautiful the river was as you in a gorge in the jungle. There is a lovely walk down and a bit of a trek up once you finish. The only upsetting thing was seeing elderly people carrying the deflated rafts on their heads up from the river. My daughter and I tried to lift one between us and couldn't. We know the Balinese need to earn a living but just wonder at what cost to their spine. There was a tasty lunch included served in a canteen set up.we were also collected and returned to our hotel by a driver

非常棒的体验,价格公道,路线长,食物棒,向导还能说中文.
下河漂流和漂流完都需要爬250级左右的台阶,这个比较累人,但一路上有稻田及山水风景,也不觉得很累

非要写上面那段中文才给发orz...

We compared this company with Bali adventure tours and choose this one. It turns out that we made a good discisson.

The start point of these two companies' are very close, adventure tour is only 200 meter ahead. They finish in the same spot. The stairs to the road are shared by these two companies.

Our guide Putu is a very funny guy. Surprisingly, he could speak very good Chinese and know a lot of Chinese songs. He can count in Chinese from one to one hundred(maybe one thousand). But he could not pronounce 10 very well, he thinks 10 is the same as snake. Haha.

His skill is very good. We experienced more than the other tourist. Have you swim in the ayung river? Have you jumped into the river from the rock? Have you stopped for pics? Have you seen the monkeys, the banana trees, the waterfall and the stone carving?

We booked it at only half price compared with adventure tours. It's really a good experience.

btw: the lunch is very good. Pls try the rib (chicken is also good)

I had heard about rafting in the Ubud area so I looked at a few. I decided to go with Sari Profit because of their quick reply to my email and the price - a bit cheaper than a lot of the other raft companies in the area. I was totally blow away.

The rapids were not super extreme (a few good ones, but pretty tame) but the scenery was amazing. We even got to go swimming and stopped by a big waterfall. Our guide was super fun and entertaining.
All of the rafting companies offer the same package, but I thought for the price and service, Sari Profit was unreal. Great lunch too - they had ribs and chicken (I had the chicken, should have gotten the ribs)

This rafting company was suggested to us by our villa manager and we could not have been happier. We were picked up and dropped off by a very nice driver who also gave us information on the sites we passed on the way to the river.

The walk to the river is lovely but you do go down many steps (and back up again at the end), so if you have physical limitations keep this in mind.
The rafting trip was fun and not scary. Our boys (ages 9 and 12) absolutely loved it! The scenery is breathtaking. There are several small waterfalls and we even stopped at one to wade. The guide was wonderful - knowledgable and friendly. He was great with our boys and really made the trip even more fun.
After rafting we were given towels and were able to shower and change clothes. Our Indonesian lunch afterwards was very good; even our picky child enjoyed it. Highly recommend this company!Visited March 2013

We have now taken two sari profit rafting tours down the ayung river. The opportunity to enjoy this beautiful river is one not to be missed.

Sari profit are owned and run by local guys and their guides are informative and skilled. They did a great job pulling my shy 11 year old out of her shell and this was the highlight of her holiday. The river in dry season is not gushing torrents and I felt much safer than on the tully in nth Queensland. Go early in the morning (we went 9am both times) and there will be less rafts.

I'm extremely unfit and managed the stairs, a bit puffed and sore legs the next day but I managed! Our driver Nyoman does this trip frequently with tourists and prefers this company, good price compared to other companies and I prefer to support the locals.

My family of 5 did the trip down the Ayung with 'Sari Profit Rafting'. I think we paid $160 AUD for the 5 of us after some negotiating - probably could have got it cheaper but we turned up in Ubud and just wanted to get on the river. The Ayung was quite gentle and I've heard several times that the Telaga is more exciting. However we had a great time. The scenery is amazing from start to finish. For my 3 kids, going rafting for the first time, it was just the right level of excitement. Our guide Bugis was hilarious and consistently tried to keep the trip interesting by pushing us into rocks and under waterfalls. The guides all seem to be very good at judging the type of customer they have on board and as we enjoyed him mucking around he kept splashing us and generally entertaining us. There are about 400 steps at the start to get down then 400 at the end. But once you are down in the river its all worth it. I'll try and convince the family to do the Telga next time - just for a few more thrills. Apparently there's about 9 companies running rafting down the river so you should be able to get a good price. The original rafting company was Sobek and I heard they dont negotiate on their price - forget it !! Main consideration is safety - and we had all the gear plus our guide called 'Boom boom' whenever we had to hold onto the ropes !!! A guide with good english is essential, plus a decent price. We got all 3.
They also provide lunch but we'd already eaten !
